dBmeter is designed so microphone audio analysis happens on your device. This page explains what the site uses and why.

Microphone access

The decibel meter, spectrum analyzer, and pitch detector use your browser microphone only after you press a start button and grant permission. dBmeter processes the signal locally in the browser and does not upload microphone audio.

Local storage

The calibration slider may save your selected reference offset in browser local storage so the meter can remember it on the same device.

Analytics and cookies

dBmeter uses Google Analytics only after you accept analytics cookies. Google Analytics helps us understand page views, device types, and general usage patterns so we can improve speed, mobile reliability, content, and tool quality. You can reject analytics and still use every tool.

Your analytics choice is saved in this browser. Advertising storage stays disabled for now, and microphone audio still stays on your device.

Advertising

dBmeter may use Google AdSense or similar advertising services later. Advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to measure ads and prevent abuse.
